Disabled Accessible Buildings

Buildings and services accessible in wheelchair

Most of the town centre is accessible in wheelchairs without help. However, please note that the geography around Szamárhegy (Donkey Hill), cobblestone streets and narrow alleys may cause some difficulties.

 

PARKING

There are 13 marked disabled parking spaces in the centre but all paying carparks can be used free of charge with a displayed disability badge.

  • Kossuth L. utca (1 space by the Post Office)
  • Kossuth L. utca (2 spaces in front of Ferenczy Museum)
  • Paprikabíró carpark (2 spaces)
  • Bükkös stream bank (1 space in front of Szent András Kindergarten)

  • Kanonok Street (1 space outside Szentendre health centre)

  • Danube Promenade – Péter Pál Street corner (1 space)

TOILETS

Two public toilets in the centre are accessible for people with reduced mobility. One is behind the Tourist Information Office (entry from Jókai Street) and the other is in Városház tér (Town Hall Square).

  • Szentendre Town Hall (Városház tér 3.) – free of charge, open during working hours

 

MUSEUMS

Ferenczy Museum and MűvészetMalom are easily accessible in wheelchair because both have been recently refurbished. The Open Air Ethnographic Museum (Skanzen) is also accessible.
