The historical centre of Szentendre is adorned with festive decoration from Advent till Epiphany. An Advent market in Dumtsa Jenő Street, open-air events, theatre performances, concerts and a wide array of art programmes and exhibitions await visitors. On the four Sundays of Advent, locals traditionally light a candle on the large Advent wreath placed around the cross on Main Square. They also celebrate New Year’s Eve here with concerts and the street party called Csavard fel a főteret (Rock the Square). The series of events ends with the new year’s concert in the functions room of the Town Hall.
Admission is free but certain events are subject to an admission fee.
